MARY POPPINS

Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s acclaimed stage musical of Mary Poppins has delighted audiences around the world since its world premiere in 2004, and is set to return to the West End at the Prince Edward Theatre.

Growing up in London in 1910, the Banks children, Jane and Michael need a nanny. After writing an advertisement for The Times of London stipulating that she must “have a cheery disposition. Rosy cheeks, no warts. Play games, all sorts”, the note is thrown away by their father Mr Banks and dismissed as nonsense. As the winds change, the ‘practically perfect’ nanny Mary Poppins arrives at Cherry Tree Lane to take care of the Banks children, and whilst she may not be exactly what the whole family had in mind, she turns their world upside down with her unconventional methods and cheery outlook on life. As the family begin to warm to Mary Poppins it becomes clear that it’s not just the children who are in need of her maternal care… With a fantastic score that includes “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious”, “A Spoonful of Sugar”, “Let’s Go Fly a Kite” and “Feed The Birds” this classic musical is suitable for the whole family.
